Ilan Averbuch (born 1953) is a sculptor born in Israel,[1] but educated in England and the United States.
From 1977 to 1978 Averbuch attended Wimbledon School of Art in London from 1979 to 1981 and the School of Visual Arts in New York . In 1982 he received the Rhodes Family Award . He completed his art education from 1983 to 1985 with a study at the Hunter College in New York. From 1985 to 1986 he spent a fair in Berlin.
Many of his works can be included in the land art. His materials are combined with stone, including wood, steel, copper, lead, glass and aluminum.[1][2] Averbuch's works are in public spaces and collections in the United States, Canada, Israel, India and Europe. Averbuch lives and works in a former factory building in Long Island City ( Queens ) in the state of New York . Since 1980 he teaches at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. As a sculpture artist has worked on many Public Projects. [3][4]
